Authenticate Artifact Stores

Artifact stores serve as centralized repositories for KAB files, housing both published packages and those awaiting publication. When your organization’s administrator configures an artifact store that requires authentication, you’ll need to provide your credentials through the Authenticate Artifact Stores feature in KOS Studio.

Accessing the Authentication Settings

To begin managing your artifact store credentials:

  1. Open KOS Studio and sign in to your account
  2. Navigate to the My Images window
  3. Click the Settings option
  4. Select “Authenticate Artifact Stores” from the settings menu

Viewing Store Details

Once you’ve accessed the authentication settings, you can review the details of any configured artifact store:

  1. Follow the steps above to reach the Authenticate Artifact Stores section
  2. Click on the specific store you want to examine
  3. Review the displayed store information and authentication status

Managing Authentication Credentials

Adding New Credentials

When an artifact store requires authentication but lacks saved credentials, you’ll notice an orange indicator next to the store name. To add your credentials:

  1. Access the Authenticate Artifact Stores settings as described above
  2. Locate the store marked with an orange dot (indicating missing authentication)
  3. Select the store you want to configure
  4. Click the edit icon in the authentication section on the right panel
  5. Enter your authentication details in the popup window
  6. Click “Add” to save your credentials

Updating Existing Credentials

To modify previously saved credentials, follow the same process but select a store that already has authentication configured.

Important Considerations

Credential Validation: The system doesn’t verify the accuracy of your credentials when you save them. Authentication is only tested during the actual artifact download process.

Download Dependencies: Your saved credentials are automatically used when downloading artifacts from the authenticated store during image configuration or execution. If your credentials are incorrect or have been changed on the server side, downloads will fail.

Troubleshooting Failed Downloads: If you encounter download failures, check whether your credentials need to be updated. Invalid or expired credentials will prevent successful artifact retrieval, requiring you to re-authenticate with the correct information.

This streamlined authentication process ensures secure access to your organization’s artifact repositories while maintaining the flexibility to manage multiple store credentials from a single interface.
